List of welfare benefits and allowances

We encourage you to contact our Advice Centre if you want to know if you might be entitled to any benefits or allowances.

The Government’s website provides a list of benefits and allowances. Here are the links to relevant sections:

Benefits and financial support if you’re disabled or have a health condition

Benefits and financial support if you’re on a low income

Benefits and financial support if you’re caring for someone

Benefits and financial support if you’re temporarily unable to work

Benefits and financial support if you’re looking for work

Our Community Employment Service will be able to give you advice and guidance if you are looking for work

The Carers Centre Brighton and Hove have lots of information on their website if you or someone you know is caring for another person

Check what you might be entitled to

Our advisors will ask you some questions about any income or savings you might have, and your outgoings. They’ll ask you if you are disabled or live with a health condition, and they might ask you some follow up questions too. This will give them enough information to tell you what benefits you might be entitled to. If you would like more support to make the application, please ask them – that is what they are there for. It only takes about 20 minutes.
