Get Involved Group

The Get Involved Group (GIG) brings together Brighton and Hove residents with a lived experience of disability to share experiences, meet each other, and have their voices heard on issues that directly affect them.

The Get Involved Group (GIG) is a user-led group which brings together Brighton and Hove residents with a lived experience of disability. Members meet each other, share their experiences, and are listened to about the issues that directly affect them. It identifies issues that might need some input, and helps plan solutions to them.  Carers, personal assistants, families and friends are also welcome.

It meets every six weeks in central Brighton to discuss topics chosen by the group. Things like welfare reform, getting out and about, accessible venues, mental health issues, sport and leisure, NHS services, disability awareness, and so much more.

It keeps members up to date via email, telephone and post, and sends a monthly round-up newsletter to keep everyone up to date with what is going on in Brighton and Hove for disabled people.

Everyone has a voice and the GIG wants to ensure yours is heard.
